Introduction

The Eye and Laser Institute, situated in the coastal city of Port Elizabeth, part of the greater Nelson Mandela Metro, is a comprehensive eye care clinic.

The Institute which was established in May 1998, consists of 6 individual practices and is home to the Eastern Cape’s first private day hospital – the Medical Forum Theatre – dedicated not only to ophthalmic surgery and procedures, but to other surgical disciplines including general surgery.

The resident ophthalmologists are members of the Medical Association of South Africa and the Ophthalmological Society of South Africa and adhere to the strictest code of conduct and professionalism, while treating patients using the latest techniques and modern technology.

From the point of reception our patients are welcomed and guided through the relevant tests and procedures and in most cases a lasting relationship is fostered with the doctor and the Institute.
