Nelson Mandela Day, 18 July 2014
Medical Forum Theatre staff celebrate Nelson Mandela Day
In celebrating Nelson Mandela Day on 18 July 2014, the Medical Forum Theatre visited the Nkosinathi Foundation, which is a foundation for the blind and partially sighted people, in North End, Port Elizabeth.
The Medical Forum Theatre staff was warmly welcomed by the Nkosinathi Foundation along with some of the blind and partially sighted people. There was joy and laughter as toiletry gifts, sponsored by MFT, was given out to all the blind and partially sighted. A beautiful song dedicated to Nelson Mandela was sung by all.
The fun started after a wonderful lunch, provided by the Nkosinathi Foundation, was enjoyed by the MFT staff. The Medical Forum Theatre staff painted a beautiful wall mural in the children’s play room, planted lavender plants in their garden and also painted the outside stairs to be more visible to the partially sighted people.
It was truly a great opportunity and experience for the Medical Forum Theatre Day Hospital to give their time to help others in need.
