Dr. Dean Barclay

Dr Dean Barclay qualified as a general practitioner in 1992 at the University of Witwatersrand in South Africa, where after he completed his internship at Livingstone Hospital, Boksberg and Benoni Hospital respectively.
Between 1995 and 1997 Dr Barclay was a general practitioner and partner at the Sunningdale 24 hour Emergency Centre, after which he ran his private practice until 1999.
He went on to specialize in ophthalmology and was a Ophthalmology Registar at King Edward Hospital in Durban.
He started in private practice in Port Elizabeth at the beginning of 2003 with Dr Jan Venter and subsequently took over the practice in August 2003.
Dr Barclay has a special interest in diabetes, cataract, lasik and artisan refractive lenses and eyelid surgery.
He has participated in clinical trials for glaucoma and refractive surgery.
In addition, Dr Barclay has attended congresses on Cataract and Refractive Surgery, Glaucoma and a Custom ablation Lasik workshop.
